Aurora on the Way with a Wolf Moon Eclipse: Solar Storm Shortie: 01-21-2019
Our Sun ups the activity this week with a returning coronal hole that promises to send us some fast solar wind. This could bump us up to solar storm conditions, at least at high latitudes by mid-week. Aurora shows are possible at high latitudes with a fleeting chance at mid-latitudes as well. On top of that, we also have a bright region rotating into Earth-view over the next few days that should keep the solar flux boosted into the 70s and ensure marginal radio propagation on earth's dayside. Learn the details of the coming solar storm, and see how this bright region will affect radio operators and GPS users this week. Also, get the details of the lunar eclipse we saw in the early morning hours of January 21st. If you are a Patreon member, you got a heads up as you had access to this forecast last night!
