Please note-Under the Wire is currently on a 1-week ban on YouTube (not surprising) so we will not be streaming live there at this time.
For weeks now, we have been talking about the up-coming proposed legislation which would empower the unelected bureaucrats at ACMA (The Australian Communications and Media Authority) to force social media companies to censor content. It's supposedly all for our protection, but what are the real risks of losing this most basic right to speak freely and frankly about issues of public interest?
Peter has a long history of fighting for human rights and his law firm, Maat's Method, was one of those representing the Australian Vaccination-risks Network (AVN) in their recent cases before the Federal and High Court.
He opposes these changes to ACMA's powers and will be talking to us about the importance of submissions to state our case on this - while we still can.
