The Barbie Movie Review: Barbie Is Dead. | Nat

The Barbie movie came out on July 21st, and I was there at the first showing, mostly to review it but also out of curiosity. There was a lot of talk, mainly from Barbie actress Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig, that this was a subversion of what Barbie is and that it is a feminist-forward movie. And indeed it is, but it is so much worse than that.

My main message is, if you have young daughters or girls in your life, DON'T LET THEM WATCH THIS MOVIE. For their own sanity and sense of self-worth. It might be time to sue Mattel for false advertising.

To bastardize Nietzsche "Barbie is dead".
