The former CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, is required to appear in a U.S. District Court in New York next week in connection with a case involving his ex-girlfriend, Caroline Ellison. Federal prosecutors have accused Bankman-Fried of witness tampering after allegedly leaking Ellison's personal writings to the New York Times, with Ellison being a witness in prosecutors' criminal case against him. Bankman-Fried has pleaded not guilty to eight federal counts of fraud and conspiracy, while Ellison has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of conspiracy and fraud related to a scheme that led to the collapse of FTX.
