The slow progress of Ukraine’s counteroffensive is taking a heavy toll on its soldiers, according to local media reports. The Kyiv Post cites several unnamed Ukrainian soldiers who present a picture of an army demoralised by a creeping counteroffensive against an entrenched enemy. Some soldiers say Ukraine’s slow & deliberate assault tactics leave them excessively vulnerable to Russian attack. Ukraine’s slow progress also means a steadily mounting figure of war casualties which has its own impact on troop psyche.
