All of you car enthusiasts out there know what it means when a car has the famous “Spirit of Ecstasy" ornament perched on the hood. You know that that car is a state of the art vehicle, made to appease all of your car cravings, and its name is none other than Rolls-Royce.

The Rolls-Royce is a luxury car that dates back to 1906. It was made by a British automobile business co-owned by Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce. This company dealt with the manufacturing of aero engines and luxury cars and soon became known for its superior engineering quality and for manufacturing the "best car in the world." The sleek design and quality make these cars to be ones of the most desired cars in the world. A survey in 1978 discovered that the only brand that is more widely known is Coca Cola, and that says a lot about its reputation.

Given that these luxury cars are so famous and expensive, literally everyone would like to have a piece of them. The most prized possession seems to be the Spirit of Ecstasy ornament which gets stolen quite regularly. In this video we see how Rolls-Royce Limited came up with a brilliant design to protect the Spirit from greedy hands. As of 2004, each Rolls-Royce has a special mechanism that hides the Spirit inside of the hood as soon as it gets pulled in any direction.
