Elephants Conducting Dusting Routine To Cool Off

This is a quick video showing elephants dusting themselves off with dirt. Elephants throw dirt on themselves. It is done to protect their skin from the sun and to keep them cool. They splash their bodies with water and then throw a layer of dirt on their back to help it form a solid thick barrier. The soil also acts as an insect repellent.
