Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny was sent to a “punishment cell” for 13 days, according to the statement published by his lawyer Vadim Kobzev on Friday. “Just an hour ago, Alexey Navalny was again placed in a punishment cell. He failed to introduce himself correctly. 13 days. Exactly until the day the verdict is announced,” said Kobzev in a Twitter post. On Thursday, the Russian prosecution demanded to sentence Alexey Navalny to 20 years in prison in the case of “extremism,” according to Navalny’s office. The verdict is scheduled to be announced on August 4th.
