Iraqi Kurdistan is a mountainous region. The average height of the mountains of Iraqi Kurdistan region is about 2400 meters. The height of the mountains in this climate reaches 3000 to 3300 meters in some places. Only the forest parts of Iraqi Kurdistan region are located in these heights.[13] The highest peak in the region is 3,611 meters high. The name of this mountain, which is located on the border of Iran, is Chighider (Kurdish: ژێچی دهر) and sometimes Helgord. In some sources, the name Chighi means "outer mountain" and in some sources it means "black tent". Many rivers originate from the mountains of Iraqi Kurdistan and flow in this region. Big Zab and Kuch Zab rivers flow from east to west in the region. The Tigris River, which originates in Turkey, passes through Iraqi Kurdistan and enters the southern regions of Iraq.
