Trump grand jury to hear testimony from aide who was with him on Jan. 6

On Thursday, a federal grand jury tasked with determining whether to indict former President Donald Trump for his actions to overturn the 2020 election is scheduled to convene.

During this session, the grand jury will hear testimony from William Russell, a former White House aide who was in close proximity to Trump on January 6, 2021.

William Russell, now working for Trump’s presidential campaign, is expected to provide crucial information related to the events of that fateful day, NBC News reported.

Special counsel Jack Smith is overseeing the grand jury proceedings, which are focused on investigating the January 6 riot and any attempts to interfere with the lawful transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election.
