Reports are swirling that Apple's working on its own secret AI chatbot called "Apple GPT." record scratch Yup, you heard that right. Seems like Apple's finally ready to enter the chatbot ring to take on ChatGPT and all the other AI bots out there.

According to intel from Bloomberg, Apple's new chatbot runs on some in-house tech called "Ajax" and was trained on Apple's own massive datasets. Wild. Engineers have apparently been testing it internally and it can do the usual AI stuff like summarize articles and answer questions. Pretty standard, but still big news coming from super stealthy Apple.

And get this - even though Apple banned employees from using ChatGPT, engineers have reportedly been chatting it up with Apple's own AI chatbot to help build new products. Saucy.

No word yet on if or when Apple plans to release this to the public. But sources say a "significant AI announcement" could be coming next year. airhorn sound

The timing lines up with all the other tech giants scrambling to release their own AI products and steal some of ChatGPT's limelight. Google whipped up Bard, Microsoft jammed ChatGPT into Bing search, and Meta's giving away its AI tech like Halloween candy. So Apple's definitely feeling the peer pressure here.

Apple's been kinda quiet on the AI hype train up till now though. They've got Siri and all, but she's still got some learning to do compared to these new-fangled conversational bots. So this Apple GPT chatbot could be Apple's big play to get back in the game.

But you know Apple - they're going to want to put their own spin on it. Cookman himself said they'll add AI thoughtfully and address privacy concerns. So maybe we'll see something that blows ChatGPT out of the water, with that good 'ol Apple secret sauce.
