Urgent NEW WARNING as rare DEADLY VIRUS heads to Europe and USA

The headlines are sounding the alarm: "Deadly Virus Sees Rapid Spread Across Europe: Major Public Health Risk." The persistent spread of a new virus, the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF), is sparking significant concern. Europe, Africa, and the Middle East are already grappling with the infectious outbreak, highlighting the urgent need for an effective public health response.

In the face of this mounting crisis, the health sector has issued an immediate and urgent warning, following the rapid progression of this fatal disease across Europe. The CCHF is now being recognized as the most critical threat to global public health in recent times.

The recent eruption of CCHF cases in Iraq and Namibia is worrisome, and Pakistani officials report that the disease has already claimed two lives in their region. Scientists caution that a widespread epidemic in Britain is highly probable, as shared during the latest Parliament's Science, Innovation, and Technology Committee briefing.

Cambridge University's head of veterinary medicine, James Wood, postulated during the committee hearing that the CCHF might make its way to British regions via ticks at some point in the near future.

The Nairovirus, the causative agent of this disease, is typically transmitted through ticks. This unsettling reality, coupled with the World Health Organization's (WHO) estimate of a grim fatality rate between 10 and 40 percent, underscores the severity of the outbreak.

In the past, the disease was contained within smaller areas across Africa, the Balkans, the Middle East, and Asia. There have been no reported outbreaks in the US to date. However, scientists now fear that climate change could be driving the virus beyond its usual habitats and potentially into Britain and France.

The WHO warns that the virus can trigger severe symptoms such as jaundice, mood swings, and sensory perception disturbances. In 2022, Iraq found itself in an intensive battle against the disease, with 212 incidents recorded between January 1 and May 22. A majority of these cases, totaling 169, were reported between April and May alone.

Adding to the growing concern, the Agence France-Presse reported that in 2023, Iraq has already seen almost 100 additional cases and 13 deaths attributed to the disease. The current trajectory of the CCHF epidemic demands immediate and concerted efforts to mitigate the imminent public health risk.
