Judiciary Committee Senators weigh in on SCOTUS ethics bill

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee spoke with reporters in Washington Thursday about their proposed legislation to establish a code of ethics for Supreme Court justices. Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durban (D-IL) said federal Illinois judges had privately told him the recent Supreme Court justice scandals were “an embarrassment.” Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) contested that it was not the legislative branch’s place to enact a code of conduct for the Supreme Court.
