Elevated Log Jump Practice

Another video used for training a new-to-Trials rider about log jumping and why we don't lift the front tire clear of the object.

Watch the front tire contact or lack of it, the height of the front tire lift and the body input or lack of to help the rear tire lift before impact. And note the skid plate contact or lack of it for each ride.

But most important, notice what happens to the rear tire when it contacts the log.... bounce versus no bounce. The front tire bump and body jump are important factors that help lift the rear tire off the ground BEFORE impact and then stick to the log.

You will not see the first rider making this mistake again as this was his first attempt with no instruction.

Shot with a Canon ELF 890 IS pocket camera.
