Share. Subscribe. The MOON is 1,550-1,600 miles above Earth's surface on its' circuit. The SUN is 1651.29 miles above at the equator. This is found using Basic Trigonometry's " Angle of Elevation ". The MOON and SUN are of equal size. 36-56 miles in diameter. Both are translucent (semi-transparent) discs. The SUN is a machine of some type. The MOON has its' own phases and is 10-90 degrees off angle with the sun.
