Overcoming Obstacles - Off The Edge: A Freerunning Web Series (Ep. 1)

Hey guys I hope you will all tune in and help share Cory DeMeyers, Visive Productions and my new series, Off The Edge. We attempted to do something that has the potential to positively impact the sport as well as not only help bring communities together all around the world but to also create a gateway to give more people a real inside view of what it is currently like to try to be a “Professional Freerunner” and a true understanding of how huge Freerunning and Parkour has become from and continues to be the fastest growing action sport in the world.Show more

We chose to hire Giles Campbell Longley as our "A" cam and editor because he not only has been training longer then most people in the game, he also is from London which we all know has an unwritten "No Bullshit policy" and we heavily encouraged him to make calls and keep the series in check.

When we first started to plan our tour the original purpose was to help promote our film the From Here to There Documentary. A film about friendship, freerunning, and following your dreams. The film took over a year to make and produce and a substantial amount of funds. We were forced to taken out loans with company’s and our team Tempest Freerunning in an effort to turn it into the “Game Changing documentary” about our sport needs. (It has received unanimously positive reviews by our peers and the general public all over the world.) So we compensated and found a way to make the two “Big Ideas” work together. So even though the focus of the tour began to change we still held screenings in each city where the tour stopped. We rented cinemas and invited everyone to come see it when possible. We sold tickets and merch to help us pay for associated expenses (cinema, travel, food, ect).

But as much as we believed in the #FH2TDoc, Cory DeMeyers and I saw an opportunity to build a branded tour that could have the potential to grow and take on a life of its own. We hired a branding expert and the creator of Emerica and the Etiennes logo. We sought out advice from the guys who were there during the birth, fall and rebirth of skateboarding. So we created something we believe all action sports should have I real tour for our sport.

If there is one thing you should know about Cory and I is we like to take shit to the next level. We envisioned the Off The Edge World Tour will eventually grow to the point of people traveling from other countries to meet us at the jams, we thought if it is done right and promoted professionally maybe we could inspire both the new generations to come out to their first events and the old generation to get behind what we are trying to do for everyone, but more importantly we thought about how crazy it would be to have other athletes join us and travel on tour with us.

To our surprise all of those things happened on the first leg of our tour (Europe). We hosted record breaking jams in many of the cities we went to, we had a few people meet us and multiple stops because of how much fun they had at a previous one, and we even had Team Farang's "Pasha the boss" join the entire tour after only 2 stops in.

But we can only be the catalyst for something this big we have taken the risk and put our necks on the line here. We chose to put our blood, sweat, and tears into this and are continuing to work on producing the highest level of production as we can to help give the sport the professional look and feel it deserves. So we are genuinely asking and truly hoping for your support in helping spread the word on social media and appropriate pages and platforms. The bigger this gets the more we can all do together.
