Fishing in Canada

Guiding back at Frontier Lodge on the East arm of Great Slave Lake. For our third day in a row, we are heading across Christie Bay towards Fortress Island to begin our day jigging for Lake Trout.
Jigging at Fortress proves to be successful but we decide to move on after a bunch of lodge boats all show up to do the same thing.

Initially move on to fishing the flats across from the Old Doctors cabin just before you reach Wildbread Gap. Fished Wilbread Gap and caught some decent fish there too. Got Surround by lodge boats and leap frogged them all and went to the Entrance / Point at Wildbread. Caught lots of fish there. stopped and had a brief shore lunch and then moved on to what I call my little piece of heaven - Majestic Bay! It's a long drive to get there and that is why I like fishing multiple spots along the way.. breaks up the day but makes for a shorter fishing time at Majestic Bay. I typically plan to have lunch at the Entrance / Point of Wildbread and then IMMEDIATELY after lunch we make a B-LINE all the way to Majestic Bay and fish it for a good 2 hours and then it's a good 2-hour boat ride back to Frontier Lodge. Seems like a LONG boat ride - but trust me - IT IS WELL WORTH THE TRIP! The fishing has ALWAYS been so spectacular at the entrance to Majestic Bay because NO ONE ever fishes it so there is limited to NO fishing pressure at this location...

The last time I was back in there was 2016 as bad weather prevented us from being able to get my dad back in there in 2019 - which was upsetting! But I got him and my mom back in there 2 days after this and we had an EPIC day to REMEMBER!!! That video will be coming soon!!!
