Russian Drone Attack On Kyiv, Top US General Defends Slow Ukraine Offensive, "Lot Of Fighting Left"

Russian forces targeted Kyiv Oblast with Iranian-made drones early morning on July 19, Ukrainian officials said. The city was repeatedly attacked by Shahed drones, Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration said. Popko added that the air defence reportedly detected and destroyed all Russian drones. Earlier, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that explosions were heard in Ukraine’s capital. US’ most senior general Mark Milley has said that Ukraine's counter-offensive is far from a failure. He added that the counter-offensive may go slower than analysts assumed when they considered possible scenarios. Outgoing UK Defence Secy Ben Wallace has said that NATO is proving an effective deterrent to Vladimir Putin. Wallace added that "Russia is much more fragile" than Moscow wishes to concede.
