Northern Fleet's crew of frigate Admiral Gorshkov hold air defence training session

19.07.23▫️ The Northern Fleet's crew of frigate Admiral Gorshkov, which is fulfilling the tasks of a long-range campaign in the Mediterranean Sea, conducted a training exercise to repel air attack means of a mock enemy.

▫️ The training exercise included repelling enemy air attack means, aviation and anti-ship missiles. The tactical situation was simulated using computer modelling.

▫️ The training involved the crews of the navigational, missile-artillery and radio-technical combat units. The speed, correctness and coherence of the actions of the combat units of the Poliment-Redut anti-aircraft missile system, A-192 artillery system and the combat information centre were tested.

▫️ The quality and speed of target designations, taking conditional targets for escort and destroying them with various types of weapons at medium and close ranges were assessed.

▫️ The crew of a Ka-27 helicopter, based on the frigate board, simulated an aerial attack vehicle at long range.

▫️ All exercises were completed successfully. The crew demonstrated high coherence.

The long-range trip of the Project 22350 lead frigate Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkov began on 4 January with its departure from Severomorsk, the main base of the Northern Fleet.

The frigate's crew took part in two international naval exercises in the waters of the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea, as well as made business visits to the Republic of South Africa, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
