The hidden UX tricks of Uber

Sure, screen design is all fine and good, but the actual user experience comes from a mix of a lot of different things. In this video I'll show you how the Uber app keeps users engaged throughout the booking process with some clever tricks and patterns.

By being able to deconstruct things like that yourself, you can learn a lot more from analysing other products. Treat this video as your UX/UI/interaction design guideline.

Record apps, then watch them in slow motion, pause frequently and try to think why certain things are done and why they're done in a specific way.

And while you're at it, you may find some bugs or missed alignment in the products as well - that's normal with projects of any size and scope.

Just remember to keep your eyes open and keep focused on seeing every little detail.
