It is amazing how baby animals can make everything seem ridiculously cute. From when they are just fast asleep to when they do the most adorable things that put a smile on your face.

Caretaker Cassandra Pedraza rescued this beloved baby otter named Pearl when she was about two weeks old and says that she was always a great eater and showed real excitement by wagging her tail when bottle-fed. This video was filmed on July 30, 2015 in Wild Animal World, Miami, Florida, USA. Watch Pearl wag her tail with joy when she’s being bottle-fed some milk. Her reaction is adorable! We can’t handle this much cuteness!

That’s why Pearl the otter might just be the cutest baby animal we’ve ever seen. She may be living in captivity and without her mom, but she sure does seem excited for her lunch. Pearl would have likely died in the wild without her mother, but, thanks to her caretaker she is well-fed and she will be able to grow up strong.

Baby otters learn how to swim, eat, and groom themselves by imitating their mothers. Baby otters often live up to 25 years in captivity, because their bodies don’t age as quickly when they don’t have to go hunting or defend from predators. However, in the wild, most otters live only about 12 to 15 years. Otters usually leave their mothers when they reach one year old and have their own babies when they are two to five.

This baby Pearl was lucky to be rescued and to get the opportunity to live in a very safe and caring environment, so it is no wonder that she is so happy.
