prayer unanswered why me fair God conditions conditional promise promises Lord's Prayer hallowed holy

Isn't prayer automatic? Are your prayers conditional? But what do you do if you don't know the conditions? How will that influence the outcome? Most likely you will not receive anything. Does that seem really fair? I thought god was a good God!
