Temperatures were in the mid 90's with a heat index around 105 degrees (F), but that didn't stop the kite flyers from the Coastal Bend Flying Circus and Surfside Flyers Kite Club from getting together on the beach to fly their kites and enjoy the view. Larie Gardner organized this gathering when she learned that I had made plans to spend the weekend down in the Corpus Christi area with a friend. She and her boyfriend, Tim (the guy you will see in the opening segment), got there early in the morning to stake out a wide area for flying their kites, before the crowd moved in around them.Show more
