This is the best deal on the Simrad touchscreen GPS/Sonar Fish finder - http://amzn.to/2jvfPSO

I finally am installing a new GPS & Sonar on my boat. I am replacing my Garmin GPS and Furuno Sonar with the Simrad GO7 XSE unit. This unit has a built in GPS and also comes with a transducer that has CHIRP capabilities. So it'll be able to do both things the 2 old devices did in one.

In this video:
Follow me and watch how to install a new totalscan transducer on your boat. I would say the hardest part is pulling the cable through your boat. If you have a smaller boat this should be easy, but any boat over 17ft will most likely have a center console you need to run the cables under to the back of the boat.

I tried to do some deep dropping in 700+ feet and the old sonar unit was not giving me the picture of the bottom that I was looking for. So i'm hoping this fish finder will make all my dreams come true.

The reason I didn't buy the Simrad Evo2 or Evo3 is because they have the radar hookup capabilities and I thought that when the day comes where I can afford to get radar i'll end up wanting a bigger unit anyways instead of the small 7" screen. So the GO7 will do just fine for now!

Turns out the 7" screen is plenty big enough for my boat! I've never had an issue with the size and as you will see from future videos the sonar maps the ground great and I mark tons of fish in 600+ feet of water.
I'll be using this unit for deep dropping swordfish in 1200+ feet, so will be exciting to see how it performs!

PS: I do love that it's touchscreen. I don't think i'll ever go back to buttons. It's super smooth and accurate and makes everything much faster!
