Mini Season Fort Pierce 2018 (Catch Clean Cook)

In this episode I am in Fort Pierce, Florida for the 2018 lobster mini season. Chris takes me out on his boat out of the Fort Pierce inlet to hunt lobster for this catch clean and cook.

We start by fixing a few things on chris's boat to get it ready for the 2018 lobster mini season here in fort pierce florida. Normally I would be in Key Largo but I just so happened to be here for mini season and I have to deal with that.

There is a lot of drama in the catch and cook. The drama happens way before the catch clean cook due to issues with the boat, issues with the hooka rig which I really wanted to get working since it would be my first time using a third lung.

On the opening day of the 2018 mini season we run out of fort pierce inlet in search of the florida spiny lobster. I was so hungry just thinking about all those florida lobster just wanting to get soaked in butter. But we can't get the hooka rig to work. With the third lung out of commission we decide to just freedive for the lobster instead.

We are freediving for hours on hours looking under every freaking rock and don't find anything except one short spiny lobster. Grrr so we go home, get some work done and work on fixing the hooka rig so we can make this catch and cook work!

The next day we run north out of fort pierce inlet all the way to vero beach. I grew up in vero beach and know some spots where I have seen lobster but the visibility was so bad we went back to the inlet and here we finally are successful diving for lobster on the hooka rig. Looks like this will be a catch clean and cook after all!
