How to Replace Spark Plugs | Mercury Outboard Engine

After messing with my engine for some time now I finally found out what was causing the stalling issues in idle/neutral. The spark plugs!

In this video I will go a little into what I thought was causing the stalling issues and how to replace the spark plugs. This is a 2004 200hp mercury outboard engine. It's a 2 stroke with 6 cylinders. Each which has it's own spark plug. So a total of 6 spark plugs. Changing spark plugs is easy!

The existing spark plugs looked very dirty and one was even smashed in a little. There was no way that one was sparking. No wonder my engine was running so weird! Some of the spark plugs didn't look too terrible so I cleaned them up a little and will keep them as a back up on the boat in case I ever have any of the new ones go bad while i'm out on the water.

After I show how to replace spark plugs I will show a little bit how to polish the boat to make it shine real nice before putting the mercury outboard engine into the water for a test run.

On our test run we did a little bit of fishing and had a chance to relax. But tomorrow we are going out and spearfishing!
