I know you have been looking for a good deep dropping video! Well the time has come because in this fishing episode we are deep dropping the Islamorada humps here in the Florida Keys! We catch a few different species deep dropping and end up having a vermilion snapper vs almaco jack catch and cook cookoff!

Anyways... Go on with my florida fishing story!

Vermilion snapper and almaco jack are not the only things we catch and cook. We also catch a blackfin tuna while deep dropping the Islamorada humps. There are usually blackfin tuna and mahi mahi around the humps. You can catch tuna at the surface on live baits. Fishing the humps gives you many options of types of fish to target at the fishing humps.

There are actually several fishing humps off the Florida Keys. The Islamorada humps are not the only fishing humps when fishing the Florida Keys. Key Largo has some humps too. Marathon has humps. There's humps all over the Florida Keys. You can go deep dropping at any of the Florida humps using this chicken deep drop rig.

When I am deep dropping the islamorada humps I use a deep drop chicken rig. By next month we should have several deep drop rigs available that you can use to take deep dropping for snapper or deep dropping for grouper.

Actually you can use the deep drop chicken rig to catch anything. Tilefish, jacks and other deep coldwater fish. The chicken rig is my favorite deep dropping rig. It's the best deep drop rig and you can easily catch a full string of fish using a chicken rig when deep dropping.

PPS: Is vermilion snapper spelled with 2 lls like vermillion snapper? I don't think so, but the title of the FWC page they wrote Vermillion oppsie I think they have a fishy spelling mistake heh
