In this offshore fishing video:

I wake up to go fishing a bit before 6am. I only went to sleep at 3am so I am super tired for this fishing trip! But it doesn't take long before the Florida air makes this South Florida Fishing Channel Boy feel Super Good and ready to film an epic catch and cook.

We leave the fort pierce inlet, but before heading offshore we stop at Dave's Live Bait boat and fill our livewell with some live bait. If you ever need live bait in the Fort Pierce area make sure to hit up Dave's Live Bait his # is 772.519.2104

Ok enough of Florida beauty let's go offshore fishing! We race offshore about 18-26 miles NE of the fort pierce inlet and start trolling in about 190ft of water. We are hoping to hook up on a wahoo or mahi mahi. I guess with fishing you never really know what you're going to get!

After about 2 hours of offshore trolling we have no catch and i'm starting to wonder if this catch and cook is going to actually be a catch n cook. We decide to start pitching live baits at the seaweed patches.

Still nothing! If the mahi were there they would have slammed our live baits. No worries, offshore fishing has so many options so we head back towards the fort pierce inlet and try our luck bottom fishing in about 70 feet of water.

We anchor up, put a chum bag out and let the fishing begin! In a matter of minutes we hook up on kingfish. YES, now I know there will be a catch and cook after all. I can already picture myself firing up the smoker for the kingfish. We limit out on kingfish right away and then start bottom fishing.

We catch some lane snapper and trigger fish. John really loves trigger fish and gave me a recipe he likes for my catch n cook. Basically it is fried triggerfish in a mayo/egg batter with a really interesting sauce. I've never tasted anything like it before!

The gray triggerfish was to die for. Or is it grey triggerfish. Hmm Ok i'll just call the fish a ocean triggerfish. So while we didn't have luck offshore trolling we made the catch and cook a reality with the bottom fishing and I had a great time offshore with John!
