In this catch and cook fishing video:
I am taking my boat offshore here in Key Largo and will be taking Joe from SeaFear out and 2 of his buddies to do some good old fashioned fishing in Key Largo. It's been a long time since I have gone fishing in the Florida Keys so I am stoked!

My main goal on this offshore fishing trip was to catch yellowtail snapper in 30-50ft of water off the reef edge. We do catch some yellowtail snapper and that will be part of the bonus! The bonus catch clean cook. That's right, we don't just catch snapper but we also clean snapper. And did I mention an African Pompano?! Yes this is a full on Florida fishing catch clean and cook episode =)

The reef and weather conditions were so beautiful Heiko Winkler decides we should go a little deeper to 120ft of water. It's time to go vertical jigging. And who knew that we would hook up into an African Pompano while jighing. This is only the second african pompano I have caught so I start thinking how to eat African Pompano.

I have just the perfect African Pompano recipe that I want to try out in this catch and cook. Thank you Craig for the African Pompano fish recipe. The yellowtail snapper is also part of the catch clean and cook which are fried whole which Heiko Winkler has done a lot on the South Florida Fishing Channel. This is actually a first time Heiko Winkler can catch african pompano on video!

By the way, for anyone wondering where we launch our boat in Key Largo... in this fishing video we launch at the John Pennekamp coral reef state park. Keep in mind you can't spearfish in the John Pennekamp state park, but you can fish!
