It is a beautiful night here in south Florida and word on the street is that there will be a super blood wolf moon tonight around 11:41pm EST. Finally the sky will be clear and I can test my new Sony camera and hopefully record this creepy and almost scary moon event.

The opening act of the wolf moon starts 9:36pm EST as the moon begins to enter Earth’s outer shadow, also called the penumbra. Darkness will creep up the lower portion of the moon.

The night creeps up on the moon and begins to eat away. This is beginning to look like a partial eclipse. Get ready to watch the super blood wolf moon.

At about 10:34pm the moon will start to enter Earth’s inner shadow, or the umbra. This is the beginning of the partial lunar eclipse. More and more it looks as if the night is eating away at the moon. Are you ready to watch the wolf moon?

11:41pm, the moon will enter totality and turn completely red as it is devoured by Earth’s umbral shadow. This happens over a one hour period. At 12:12am it will reach the darkest part of Earth’s shadow, appearing to be at its most red. This is now a super blood wolf moon!

Do you feel a tingle as you watch the wolf moon?

The moon slowly begins to leave the umbral shadow at 12:44am and brighten to it's original sight. By 2:48am the eclipse will be completely over.
