We went offshore trolling looking for Mahi Mahi here in the Florida Keys, unfortunately we did not find any. We were trolling offshore for 6+ hours on the first day off key largo.

I heard other people catching Mahi offshore trolling between 250ft depth to 800ft off Marathon. So we tried trolling offshore at all these depths but could not produce a big bite.

IN FACT... we couldn't product a single bite whole offshore trolling

The next day we go offshore trolling out of Islamorada in the Florida Keys with our buddy Chris who drives a yellowfin boat. Fingers crossed we finally get a big bite. But hey.. fishing is fishing at least we are offshore

Once again it turns into a long day of fishing with no bites. We even try some spearfishing. Man we have been offshore trolling for Days at this point. CMON...

As is started to get near the end of the day it happened. FISH ON. A rod goes off. YES

Fishing just turned into catching and our days of offshore trolling were all worth it. We end up catching a handful of tuna and catch a big jack crevalle and I would say our days of offshore trolling were all worth it.

Too bad this won't be a catch and cook, but it was still great fun. Maybe next time I will do a bonito tuna catch and cook. I'm sure with enough spices and herbs it could be a decent tuna catch and cook.

Maybe I should do a Jack Crevalle catch and cook hah I was told they can taste good when smoked and put into fish dip

Until then I'll be here in the florida keys trying to catch big fish. Whether i'm off key largo, Islamorada, Marathon or wherever and i'm offshore trolling you can bet that I have a smile on my face.
