I am always asked, Heiko what is your favorite fish?

That's a tough answer because I don't think there is just the best fish. There are a bunch of fish I love to eat. Sometimes it's all about how you cook the fish.

BUT, for a simple recipe I think the best fish to eat if I had to pick just one would be mangrove snapper. I like snapper more than grouper and cobia. Anything in the snapper family I think is the best fish.

OR at least in the top fish to eat!

Mutton snapper, yellowtail snapper, mangrove snapper and so on. Those are the best fish! They have a white and flaky meat. I also love to eat Wahoo and other fish.

I will show you how to catch and cook my favorite fish. First we catch snapper on this South Florida Fishing Episode. I show you my favorite snapper rig and how to catch fish. Once we catch 3 mangrove snapper it's time to go home and cook snapper!

Now it's time to show you how to cook fish. In this fishing cooking episode I will fry the snapper whole. Mangrove snapper is great to fry whole. Something like a MONSTER mutton snapper would be very hard to fry whole because they would not fit in the pan while cooking fish!

For a windy and rainy winter day I am happy that I was able to still get a catch and cook episode out of it. Next time you ask me what my favorite fish to eat is i'll probably tell you snapper. Surprisingly I know people love to catch and cook grouper and cobia, but those 2 fish are actually lower on my favorite fish scale.

But when properly cooked and presented I think any fish can taste great! So learn how to fish. Catch fish and then it's time for you to cook fish. The best fish to eat may be completely different for you than me. Everyone has different taste buds and preferences on how to cook fish so stay open minded and get out there and catch fish!
