In this catch and cook fishing episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel my buddy Joe and I take his boat out to do some offshore fishing off Key Largo. We do some wreck fishing and offshore trolling and catch an interesting fish known as the slippery dick fish that I feed my girlfriend.

My fishing rig of choice that makes this fish catch and cook happen is the lip candy jig. We start by drifting the wrecks off Key Largo. I drop down the 1.5oz lip candy jig with some squid on it to the bottom and jig it back up.

BAM! First drop and first fish on!

Normally the best youtube fishing channel doesn't hook up this fast, but I guess it happens! heh

I quickly reel it in to find out that this catch n cook might be a slippery one for the girlfriend. I catch a slippery dick fish which I heard are good eating.

Weird way to start the fishing day. BUT at least our catch and cook is secured. It can only get better now right?

We do hook into some big fish while wreck fishing. A kingfish and maybe a shark. Some amberjack wreck fishing but they are too small to keep.

The bite slowed down a bit while fishing the wrecks off key largo so we decide it's time to do some offshore trolling. A mahi mahi catch and cook would be amazing!

In search of mahi we run all the way out to 1000ft of water! And nothing! We see some weedlines but no mahi! Looks like this may just be a slippery dick fish catch and cook.

We won't give up yet! We head back to the key largo wrecks and try fishing there one more time.

I drop down the lip candy jig and BAM! FISH ON!

Joe and I catch 3 nice yellow jack which are great eating. So this catch and cook will have a little fish variety to it. We end up cooking the fish coconut encrusted with some mango salsa.
