This is the first time I have tried to eat a raccoon. I don't think I cooked it right. The taste was ok, but the texture was weird. The raccoon catch clean and cook was an interesting one... the catch and cook part of it maybe didn't go awesome BUT I did learn how to make a raccoon pelt.

I have made a deer pelt in the past. So I followed the same basic instructions on how to skin a raccoon and then how to tan the raccoon pelt.

Skinning a raccoon is like most any other animal, skin rips off for the most part. I don't go too much into details, but it's a basic overview on how to make a pelt, hope you learned something on the south Florida fishing channel turkey hunting episode that turned into missing a turkey and needing to eat a raccoon instead. Hurray for wanting to film a catch n cook...

I also miss a rabbit. It's just my hunting misses kinda day. Well, I did catch a raccoon, but I mean. He wasn't moving very much in the tree. Raccoons eat turkey eggs on the farm, so at least I know some eggs will be safe and turkey hunting in Florida on the Xtreme Outdoors show will continue
