Today we spearfish old WWII bomb holes for sheepshead, snapper and grouper and do a Sheepshead VS. Snapper Catch N Cook!

This is my first time spearfishing way out north from the Florida Keys! I never knew there was WWII bomb holes out off the florida keys. During WW2 they tested bombs in the florida keys which created these bomb holes which we go spearfishing on resulting in a yummy sheepshead vs snapper catch and cook.

Spearfishing Florida has always been a huge passion of mine. I have gone spearfishing for mahi, snapper, grouper, flounder, wahoo, kingfish, permit and basically anything you're allowed to spearfish in the Florida Keys!

Spearfishing always seems to end with a spearfishing catch n cook for me. In this cast it's a snapper catch n cook and sheepshead catch clean cook. We do go spearfishing for grouper, but this won't be a grouper catch and cook.

The WWII bomb holes were dropped way out in the middle of nowhere where you have miles and miles of just seagrass. The bombs would leave craters where no seagrass would grow on. Little rock caves were left and these bomb craters became a habitat for all sorts of fish and this is where we will be spearfishing. These bomb holes are full of catch and cook episodes!

It has been 6+ years since I have spearfished a sheepshead so I was very excited for this sheepshead catch clean and cook. I forgot how white the sheepshead meat is! And boy did it taste good. I would maybe even argue it tasted better than the mangrove snapper catch n cook!

I want to thank Captain Chris for taking Caitlyn and I out on his yellowfin and bringing us to the WW2 bomb holes. I would have never thought I would be spearfishing bomb holes! It was cool to see the life that has sprung up around these once explosive and deadly spots.

After a day of spearfishing in the Florida Keys we head back to the South Florida Fishing Channel kitchen to do the catch clean and cook part of the fishing episode.

We catch snapper and cook snapper. We catch sheepshead and cook sheepshead! We also catch and cook a grouper but that was not on this episode since we did a grouper catch n cook on the last episode I posted!
