34 Bradleys Abandoned, Damaged or Destroyed | Ukraine Loses Western Armour To Russian Minefields

The Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (BFV) has faced challenges and suffered losses amid Ukraine's counteroffensive against Russian forces. Out of the 109 Bradleys supplied by the US to Ukraine, at least 34 have been confirmed as abandoned, damaged or destroyed. The loss of vehicles primarily occurred in the early days of the counteroffensive due to heavily-mined territory. Ukrainian soldiers have been forced to advance on foot after the Bradleys were knocked out. The minefields have revealed the limitations of Western-provided armour, and Ukrainian forces have requested additional mine-clearance equipment. Despite the losses, a new $800 million military aid package from the US includes 32 additional BFVs for Ukraine, along with other equipment. Russian specialists also plan to adopt useful military technology from captured Western weaponry through reverse engineering.
