I haven’t used this tricep machine in YEARS…and that’s not an exaggeration. I was never a fan because these would cause A LOT of discomfort in my elbows & a lot of people seem to have the same experience. Decided to give this machine another chance & here are the takeaways:
1️⃣ I was pleasantly surprised because it wasn’t as problematic for my elbows compared to previous experiences
2️⃣ I mentioned that I didn’t do these for years because the exercise didn’t work for me…so this is a REMINDER: NO EXERCISE IS MANDATORY, if an exercise causes discomfort & isn’t enjoyable, then you DO NOT need to include it in your program
3️⃣ Even though you should be progressing on the same exercises from week to week, you can occasionally revisit other movements when you need to keep things fresh in the gym (& maybe you’ll find something that you wanna permanently keep in your program)
4️⃣ This ISN’T ACTUALLY A BAD EXERCISE & even though it used to cause a bit of discomfort, I didn’t experience any after my long hiatus. And I think that’s because my elbows have gotten a bit stronger & I could’ve been improperly setting up the movement in the past (which is more common than you think)
I’m gonna keep using this machine over the next few weeks, so I’ll let you know if I discover anything useful after getting some more reps in (pun is definitely intended) & Drop me any questions in the comments!
