Has Canada's police system become politicized?

Throughout the covid lockdowns, double standards were everywhere. Depending on what you were protesting, you were either left alone or ticketed. A kneeling Trudeau showing support for a group that committed arson, looting, property damage, and vandalism is poor judgment. The Edmonton police did the same thing. What about the arrests? Or was it politically incorrect to arrest BLM rioters? The Canadian police were arresting people, but the criminals were entirely different. They were non-violent and peaceful. If the police are busy fighting crime, who has time to meddle in politics? The Canadian police need to stay out of politics. Just keeping our streets and citizens safe should keep them busy enough.
