Why are most people so lazy?

Do you study scripture as much as you should? We all fall short of YHWH's glory, myself included. We can all pray more, fast more, praise more and study more so we can get closer to our creator. Many believers are deceived into believing false doctrines because they worship their pastors and believe whatever they are told because they don't study the word to show themselves approved. If we all claim to love Jesus/Yeshua so much, why is this? Don't we want to truly know him and his will intimately so we can obey him and please him?
