I raised the baby robin since it was found abandoned in its very early days. A few days after this video was taken he became independent and abandoned me!"- says Ray Borgobello, the man from the video.

The American robin is active mostly during the day and assembles in large flocks at night. It usually eats beetle grubs, earthworms, and caterpillars, but also fruits, and berries. It is one of the earliest bird species to lay eggs, beginning to breed shortly after returning to its summer range from its winter range.

Its nest consists of long pieces of grass, twigs, paper, and feathers, and is smeared with mud and often cushioned with grass or other soft materials. It is one of the first birds to sing at dawn, and its song consists of several discrete units that are repeated. Its song is commonly described as a cheerily carol.

The lucky fella in this video hit a jack pot when the man caring for it even helped it to find some tasty worms by shoveling the ground. The bird then easily catches the unearthed worms and fills its belly. Soon after, it became strong enough to leave and go back into the forest.
