Charge your lanterns and fill up for your fog machines because Insidious is back!

Once again people wander around in The Legend of Zelda’s dark world so things can jump out at them, only this time we revisit the original characters but the same old themes of memory and trauma and how it’s actually best NOT to forget the bad things that happen to us because it is those negative experiences that actually make us wiser and stronger. In fact, it kinda highlights how stupid the ending of film 2 is because if the father and son leads were smart enough to NOT have had their memories wiped we wouldn’t have to watch this follow-up about them remembering that they had their memories wiped so they could return to a red door in purgatory and slam it in the face of some Darth Maul lookin’ demon that’s been chasing everyone for 5 films.

These Insidious movies consist of parts one and two that are basically one complete and compelling story, and everything that has come after has been a loose plot that acts as an excuse to showcase jump scares. No wonder James Wan bailed on the director’s chair after the first two. I’m gonna count backwards from five and hopefully we’ll all forget about Insidious 3, 4, and 5… 4… 3…
