Welcome back to Erebonia! As Rean and the other cadets gather for the military exercise, they also meet Elliot's father, who it turns out is a famous General! Watching the exercise of the latest Erebonian tanks versus a group of older tanks being operated by an autopilot device, they're struck with just how much power the Imperial military can wield and reflect on their potential future in it. However, soon it becomes clear that The Imperial Liberation Front have put a new plan into motion! The next morning, word of an attack on the political conference in Crossbell gets back to them, shortly before twenty of the advanced heavy tanks abruptly break out of the hangar and begin attacking the fortress! With that as a distraction, the ILF arrive via airship and launch a surprise attack on the base soldiers! Major Neithardt and Instructor Sara realize that the two ILF commanders are headed for the giant long-range cannons, intending to fire them at the tower in Crossbell where Chancellor Osborne and Prince Olivert are...!
