That will actually help our atmosphere. It will add mass to our atmosphere that will cool the earth. But it will cause a lot of radio interference. Particles is what we want CLES, which this ejection is (it will cause cosmic rays in our atmosphere and that will cause high altitude clouds). You may see auroras as far south as Atlanta. This is all good.

In the last solar cycle we didn't have many flares. Our atmosphere has been blowing away in the solar wind for ten years making weather more extreme in temperature, summer and winter. This exposes the surface to short wave radiation. What's happening now will offer added protection against short wave radiation.
