Machining a Cast Iron Straight Edge - Part 1

I try to be constantly working on learning new skills, and one that I have been wanting to learn is machine way scraping, a skill I plan to use when I rebuild my 1960 13" South Bend Lathe. There are a bunch of new tools I will need to accomplish this, and a straight edge is one of them. I picked up this 18" prism straight edge as a raw casting. The first step in preparing this raw casting to become a useful tool is to machine all of the necessary surfaces.

An extended length version of the 2 part series is available on my Patreon page.
