Today we will begin our acquaintance with a very interesting and rare document. The author of this diary was a Red Army soldier, his division defending Leningrad. There were not only civilians who were starving in the besieged city, but so did Red Army soldiers. This soldier obviously was not captured by Soviet propaganda, he had his own opinion on any event. But his thoughts are very dangerous, for expressing such an opinion in the Soviet Union, at best a man would be sent to prison, but at worst he would be executed. But that does not stop him, he thoroughly writes everything that happens to him in his diary. From his notes we understand that he was in the most terrible conditions, both physically and psychologically. This document is very emotional, I constantly paused and "tried on" these events on myself. It is impossible not to empathize with this man, what he went through is a real hell on earth...
