Southwestern Ridging Brings Smoke, Drought Relief, and Thunderstorms Next Week -Great Lakes Weather
11 months ago

The pattern we saw last week will persist into next week and perhaps through the beginning of August. Wildfire smoke from Canada will be pushed into the Great Lakes Region ahead of another low pressure system bringing thunderstorms back to the western Great Lakes Region. These storms will be isolated but could pack some damaging winds and hail. An unpredictable pattern precludes any certainty with the upcoming weather systems through the week, but the expected rainfall will lead to continuing drought relief across the area- except for northern Michigan.
