Hi, it’s Patrik Hutzel from intensivecareathome.com, where we provide tailor-made solutions for long-term ventilated adults and children with tracheostomies, and where we also provide tailor-made solutions for hospitals and intensive care units to manage their bed blocks.
This is a quick announcement. We will be providing a breakfast session at the ANZICS conference in Adelaide on the 30th of March 2023, which is in about 10 days or so. The breakfast session will be on the 30th of March at 7:45 AM at the ANZICS conference in Adelaide.
Now, the topic will be about, “How to eliminate intensive care bed blocks?” So, hospital bed blocks are not a new phenomenon, but the issue has been highlighted and more pronounced in the past few years, especially during and since the Covid pandemic. Eloquently explored in the recent AMA publication, “Hospital Exit Block: A symptom of a sick health system” in the AMA from this year, actually, 2023. The issue of bed block impacts not only on hospital bed flow, but also on ambulance ramp times, hospital bed availability, and surgical waiting lists. An alternative pathway exists, which would empty “blocked ICU and ward beds”, enabling a discharge to home for complex needs patients, focusing on those that need ventilation and tracheostomy care.
More information you will find below this link to the breakfast session at the ANZICS 2023 conference in Adelaide, and also a link to our website.
Hopefully I’ll see you all there for ICU professionals, doctors, nurses, and physios, and maybe also some social workers that might be at the conference because we can help you with bed blocks in your ICU.
Thank you so much for watching and I’ll see you at the conference.
Take care.
