Joe Biden ‘serious’ about prisoner swap for Evan Gershkovich-World-Wire

Resident Biden said the US was seriously looking into a prisoner exchange to free Evan Gershkovich, the journalist wrongfully detained in Russia.

Biden said the process was “underway” to try to have the reporter for The Wall Street Journal released from solitary confinement in the notorious Lefortovo prison near Moscow.

Gershkovich, 32, passed 100 days in detention last week after being arrested in Yekaterinburg, about 800 miles east of Moscow, on spying charges.
