💔 People rarely remember the dates of events that didn’t involve them directly. With one of the exceptions being 911.

Apart from remembering the date of the terrorist attack on the U.S. most of us who were old enough back then could also vividly recollect the sequence of events on that date.

Many Ukrainians can do the same for July 14th, 2022.

It was a Thursday. As per the habit I’ve developed during the previous months, I reached for my phone seconds after waking up and that's when I found out about the Russian terrorist attack on Vinnytsia.

There were photos. Horrifying photos...
I broke down in tears when I saw a photo of a pink stroller lying on its side by a pedestrian crossing sign. No child in sight.

As I went on another telegram channel moments later I saw a photo with the same pink stroller and a lifeless little body ripped apart and covered in blood next to it. I’ll never forget that image.

Shortly thereafter the little victim’s name was released publicly.

It was Liza.

Liza was on her way to see a speech therapist with her mom Iryna Dmitrieva when Russians attacked the center of the city with Kalibr cruise missiles. They did it in broad daylight to ensure the maximum number of casualties.

Liza was killed instantly. Her mom was critically injured but ultimately survived.

More and more photos of little Liza and her mom kept on coming out that day. I remember them all, but the ones that I will forever associate with that day are the photos of the two of them in a lavender field...

2 other children were also killed in the Russian terrorist attack on Vinnytsia: 7-year-old Maxim and 8-year-old Kyrylo.

27 people in total lost their lives that day. Over 200 were injured…
