Strange spiral lights

Energy columns? Camera malfunction? I would like to know what these spiral lights are. First photograph was taken in the year 2000 in the Botanic Garden of Dublin. The second one was taken in April 2002 in a small town called Setcases, in the Catalan Pyrenees. The third one is taken in 2003 near Olot, a vulcano area also in Catalonia. They are taken with different analog cameras. They were not the last photos of the film and there was no smoke. The other photos of the film were OK. You can see the original scanned one and a negative effect, except the last one, which has a x-ray effect for a better view.
